Rannekärr – Horsefarm in the heart of Svartedalen
Welcome to Rannekärr farm! We offer you a holiday-home in the middle of Svartedalen, a famous nature reserve 40 km north of Gothenburg. The property is owned by the same family for 5 generations and includes vast areas of forest, farm fields and a lake called Ormevatten.
The accomodation is an appartment on the top-floor of the old farmhouse, with a separate entrance, equipped for self-catering, with beds for 5 persons. It includes a well-equipped kitchen, a dining-room, a bathroom with WC, shower and washing-machine. In short, you’ll find all the comfort you need for your vacation.
Our passion is Ardennais, one of the oldest draft-horse-breeds. A whole gang of Ardennais lives on our farm, and they are used to carry our guests and draw coaches on the surrounding countryroads. Many fine Ardennais have been born and raised on Rannekärr since we started with horse-breeding. You can book a tour with horse and carriage for youself, or you might want to spice up a family-gathering, a birthday-party or another group-aktivity by making this exciting trip!
For those who travel through Sweden with their own horse, we offer “Bed&Box” as accomodation for both of you.
Guests who are intrested in hunting can join swedish moose-hunt during 4 day in oktober, but even stalking trips and wild boar hunts at night are possible by prior arrangement.
Or maybe you do not want any of these things and just take it easy during your holidays? Then just watch and learn from a farmer’s life, say hi to the cattle and the cats or take a stroll in the vast forest of Svartedalen!

Directions
Directions from Gothenburg:
Motorway E6 northward. Take the exit no 89: Stora Höga/Jörlanda. Turn right and follow the road for 3 km. At the yellow house with a red barn turn left and drive for another 100m. You have arrived.
Directions from Oslo/Uddevalla:
Motoway E6 southward. Take the exit 90: Jörlanda / Stora Höga. Straight through the first roundabout and into the village of Stora Höga. Turn left in the next roundabout and continue towards Jörlanda. Follow the road that bridges the motorway and drive app. 3 more km. At the yellow house with a red barn turn left and drive for another 100m. You have arrived.
