Gräsbo Skola – B&B with nature all around
Welcome to Gräsbo Skola! Our accommodation is situated on the forests edge, with the farming lands stretched in front of us. Nature is all around us and the silence can be total, apart from some occasional bird and the wind in the trees.
Gräsbo Skola can be your base for trips to the National Park of Färnebofjärden. It’s also close to Upplandsleden. One of several trails for hiking/trekking in northern Uppland. Lake Tämnaren, an eldorado for birdwatchers, is also close by.
You’ll find peace and tranquillity all around the year. Nature is always close by, and if you are the active type, you can hike, canoe or ski, depending on the season.
Gräsbo Skola is a former school, built in the 19th century. A more recent extension is from 1920. The school was closed when a new one emerged in the town of Östervåla, sometime in the 1960’s. Today, the building is renovated to serve as a charming countryside-hotel.
We use the former gymnastic hall as breakfast-room and lounge. With a warming chimney and large windows to let in light, we create a special atmosphere in this place with the nickname “Solsalen” – “hall of the sun”.
Your accommodation is one of the 3 rooms on the first floor, where one is shaped as an apartment with kitchenette and WC (“Husmors rum”). A bathroom is down the hallway. In the basement, there is another room with its own bathroom (“Blomrummet”), as well as the conference-room.

If you fly to Stockholm we can arrange to pick you up.
By car you go to Uppsala. Take road 272 north to Östervåla and at the church turn left. Follow the sign towards Huddunge. After approximately 5 km the forest opens up, after a sharp bend and a little bridge you will see the village sign "Gräsbo".
