Midsummer in Sweden

Do you want to experience Midsummer in Sweden? Then you should visit us at Farmstay Sweden! The country-side is THE place to be when celebrating this cherished tradition.

Many visitors from abroad are surprised to find Sweden’s major cities unusually quiet during Midsummer. There’s a good reason for that—most Swedes head to the countryside for the celebrations! In 2025, the Midsummer weekend falls on June 20–22.

Whenever possible, Swedes spend Midsummer at a summer house or on camping grounds, celebrating with family and friends. If you own a summer house, or if you know someone who does, you can call yourself lucky! If you do not have access to a house in the countryside, there’s Farmstay Sweden, where visitors can experience authentic Swedish rural life firsthand.

We offer accommodations during Midsummer, including houses, holiday apartments, and cottages for self-catering. Our B&B-style accommodations are also open during this lovely season. Every stay is connected to a countryside homestead—some with farm animals and active agriculture, others more secluded in breathtaking nature, far away from the hustle and bustle.
